Our home page “centerpiece” photo of the Cathedral Spires was taken by Paul Horsted of Rapid City, a professional photographer “deeply attached to this special place”. We think this photo really captures the dramatic character of the Needles. South Tower appears as the highest visible spire, with Spire Three (International Chimney) to the left, and the flat-top tower of East Gruesome to the right.
The photo on the left, taken by Joann Biddick, is of local climber Mike McQuarrie in the "eye" of the Needles Eye, a famous roadside tourist attraction. It is here that one often hears that inevitable tourist question; "How do you get the rope up there?The photo on the right was taken by Cindy Tolle. It shows Khayyam Spire in the Cathedrals, a place of Needles magic.
